Unfortunately, this time I didn't think about writing an announcement that I would start with the 5th song. That's why I have to put everything in one post. I will therefore summarize both in one post
The basic idea for this song was to sound different again than the last song. Since the last song sounded very EBM-like, I wanted to do the opposite. That's why the song started very slowly and got by without the many short "beeps" of the last song. I also wanted to make it sound harmonious this time and not start as dry as before.
The song quickly developed an apocalyptic mood for me, with deep layers and lots of drums again, even if this time it was less complex. I added echo-heavy metallic melody notes to the deep layers, which resulted in a good contrast.
As always, when a song already starts harmoniously, it wasn't a long work to do a second part this time. When I raised the deep, gloomy layers 1 octave, the sound got a pretty different mood and the layers began to sound almost like angel choirs, although I don't use samples from real instruments or voices on this song either. Through the 2nd part, the song got a kind of feeling as if you were ascending from the deepest darkness into the sky - an effect that naturally occurs quite often with Ice Ages
Even if the second part started quickly, problems arose, this time with the singing. While the vocal melody is usually finished very quickly, this time I was very picky and not satisfied with anything. After lengthy unsuccessful attempts, I realized that the whole song was in a pitch that didn't match my voice and that I had tried all the time to find a good melody with notes that matched the pitch - which wasn't possible. So I made the entire song 3 notes lower and very quickly I was able to successfully finish my vocal melody and am very happy with it.
