I would like to introduce you to another band that certainly had an indirect influence on my music, even if this band is neither hard nor industrial. But before I describe the band, I write a short music-historical introduction.
As mentioned before, musically, I "grew up" with the metal scene. In this scene for a long time everything that was somehow electronic was the worst mortal sin and "blasphemy" against the metal oath to do everything by hand But even before I started making music with summoning, these rigid dogmas began to soften and I began to look for alternatives. Especially in the dark, mystical realm, I was looking for music that was clearly different from what I had heard over the years. And then came this album, which my bandmate played for me.
I can't remember exactly whether I got to know this album before or after Laeatherstrip, but it was a very defining moment for me to see the synthesizer as a full-fledged instrument, which paved the way for the use of synthesizers in Summoning, as well as Ice Ages made it possible.
I was spontaneously enthusiastic about the unorthodox use of the drum sounds, as well as the melancholic keyboard melodies, and above all the incredibly expressive voice, which in just one song uses about 5 different styles, which it constantly change. This enthusiasm for the song (as well as other songs on the album) has not faded to this day, I still think it's great.
