Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do the final sound check this weekend and have to wait a few more days. But I use the time to refine the songs. That’s why there’s some nerdy music information for you
I’ve had a principle since I’ve been making music. I always play own melody for each instrument i add to a song. I think instruments that just play other instruments are pointless because they don’t contribute anything to the harmonies and melodies of the song.
But with the current album I broke this principle from time to time. I realized that my bass lines in the “chorus” parts are often only audible if you focus on them – most people probably don’t even notice that I put a lot of thought into them.
That’s why in Fatal Breath and The World Abides I doubled the bass line at the end and played it two octaves higher to emphasize it. I assume that most listeners will not be aware that it is the bass line and will perceive it as a new melody. In any case, it is an enrichment.
